Heavy word processors such as Microsoft Word and Open Office have equipped themselves with spell checkers. The problem is not everyone uses them to create a simple document. I myself even use notepad, wordpad, and often Keynote. These three do not have built-in spell checkers inside. So I run to the internet and see if I can get a spell checker that can be used for all kind of text editors, and then end up with this nifty software called tinySpell.
Just like inside Open Office or its competitor Microsoft Word, this application will check your spelling on the fly. The different thing is that you won’t get the red underline anymore. Instead, any mistakenly typed word will be marked by a sound of your choice. When the sound beeps, you can press the shortcut to show the word suggestion list and pick the one that you think is right. Another way to check for spelling error is by sending the related texts to the clipboard (copying). For this to be able to be performed, make sure that the option to check the clipboard text is activated.
However, keep in mind that there is no way a spell checker can detect all the words correctly. Sometimes you may get some of the words are mistakenly marked, but this is simply due to the limitation of the word database. When a word is mistakenly detected, you should add it to the program’s dictionary so the mistake won’t happen again. It is free, but the pro version is also available should you want to get more features. Get tinySpell now.
